Mark Knedeisen handles complex patent matters—whether technically sophisticated, legally nuanced, or both. His practice spans litigation, Patent Office trials, patent prosecution, and strategic counseling across a wide range of advanced technologies and industries.
Mr. Knedeisen represents clients in high-stakes patent infringement litigation. Notably, he was part of the K&L Gates team that secured a US$750 million settlement for Carnegie Mellon University following a jury verdict and Federal Circuit affirmance in CMU v. He routinely works on cutting-edge innovations involving LLM fine-tuning, model architectures, and cloud-based deployment of AI models.
He advises clients on portfolio development, freedom-to-operate, IP due diligence, licensing, and IP strategy in business transactions, as well as brand protection matters, including domestic and international trademark registration and enforcement.
Mr. Knedeisen’s practice focuses on a range of industries including financial services, technology, life sciences and healthcare, manufacturing and electronics, and telecommunications. He has been named to the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list in the area of patent law.
