Milou Derks-Convery

Milou Derks-Convery is a lawyer in the Complex Litigation and Disputes Resolution team.

She joined the firm as a graduate and currently practices in the areas of personal injury and insurance litigation, including advising and acting for hospitals, health care providers and organisations, in defence of medical negligence and personal injury claims.

In addition, Milou represents and advises health care providers in relation to coronial investigations and inquests. 

Prior to joining the firm, Milou worked in learning program development as a professional and organisational program developer for many years. She also has experience working for a non-profit organisation providing legal assistance to asylum seekers and refugees in the United States. During her graduate program at the firm, she gained experience rotating through the Real Estate and Restructuring and Insolvency Teams before settling in the Complex Commercial Litigation and Disputes Team.

  • Joint Recipient, K&L Gates Women's Achievement Awards, 2022

Milou is an active pro-bono work advocate and a member of the K&L Gates Pro Bono Committee in Melbourne. She has received awards in respect of her pro bono hours of service in 201 and 2022, as well as a Women's Achievement Award in recognition of her commitment to Community Service. Milou has assisted pro bono clients in a range of legal matters including in relation to property and personal injury disputes.
