Advised a leading drone manufacturer regarding US trade actions and policies.
Acted for an Australia-based company that brings healthcare logistics into the 21st century by deploying two-way drone networks capable of delivering essential medical supplies to urban, rural, and remote areas globally in its Series B capital raise led by an Australian deep tech investment fund tackling the world’s biggest challenges by turning today’s scientific discoveries into tomorrow’s industries to raise approximately AU$20 million.
Represented a pyrotechnics company in its efforts to obtain one of the only US Federal Aviation Administration authorizations that would allow it to conduct drone light shows with pyrotechnics. The company also requested a waiver to operate multiple small drones and to operate at night.
Provided routine assistance to a manufacturer of drone and camera technology on a range of government ethics and lobbying disclosure issues. Addressed political ethics compliance and training; PAC formation; federal, state, and local lobbying, campaign, and political compliance programs; FEC advisory opinions and enforcement actions; and FARA registration and reporting.
Advised a US/German autonomous-driving vehicle developer in GDPR questions related to the use of (personal) data in autonomous vehicles. Particularly addressed the collection and sharing of machine-learning data among group companies in Europe and the United States. Also advised on local employment data protection questions.
Represented a global technology, defence, and engineering group in its acquisition of a developer of autonomous mobile robots for manufacturing environments, hospitals, and other commercial settings.
Assisted a Pleasanton, California-headquartered automation machinery manufacturer that specializes in flexible human-robot collaboration in its series seed financing.
Defended a unified data and AI platform against a high-level technical employee's allegations of discrimination and wrongful termination. The plaintiff refused to agree to arbitration, claiming that the arbitration agreement was hidden within a confidentiality agreement and therefore unconscionable. In opposition to our motion to compel arbitration, plaintiff filed sensitive documents. Successfully moved to seal those sensitive documents and enforced the arbitration agreement.
