Prior to joining the firm as an associate Samantha served as a patent agent in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Through this role, she analyzed USPTO and foreign office actions, developed response strategies to overcome objections and rejections, and prepared formal responses, including necessary arguments or amendments to ensure continued prosecution. Samantha also conducted legal research analysis regarding various intellectual property law related issues to aid partners in advising clients on recent legal developments.
In addition, Samantha was previously a summer associate in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. During this time she prepared patent documentation, including a complete non-provisional patent application, as well as claim sets, drawings, specifications, and office action responses. Samantha also provided legal research and writing in support of the intellectual property procurement and portfolio management team and intellectual property litigation team.
