Samuel Gordon is an associate in the firm's International Arbitration practice group. His practice focusses primarily on energy disputes in the gas and LNG sector and construction and infrastructure disputes. He has experience representing clients in arbitrations under the institutional rules of the ICC, DIAC, and LCIA in London, Vienna, Dubai, and Singapore, as well as in expert determinations and adjudications.
In the energy sector, Sam's experience includes advising on disputes arising from the termination of long-term supply agreements, force majeure issues, contractual price reviews, and the general interpretation of commercial contracts. He has a particular interest in the intersection of legal and commercial issues affecting the international energy industry, including evolving LNG market dynamics and their implications for long-term supply relationships.
In the construction sector, Sam's experience includes advising on disputes arising under long-term Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts, construction and engineering delay disputes, and disputes arising from defects in design. He also advises on non-contentious construction and infrastructure matters, including assisting in the drafting and negotiation of contracts based on the NEC and FIDIC standard forms, as well as bespoke engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) contracts.
