Dr. Sara Lotz

Sara Lotz is a lawyer in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution group in Melbourne. She focuses on health and life sciences litigation and complex commercial litigation and disputes. She has experience in assisting medical practitioners, medical researchers, medical centres, public and private hospitals and their insurers in civil litigation, disciplinary proceedings and coronial inquests. Sara's experience also covers large scale litigation, arbitrations, investigations and inquiries.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Sara worked as a lawyer in the health group at a national law firm in Sydney and Melbourne. She has also previously worked at international commercial law firms and a specialist law firm in the areas of commercial law and insurance litigation.

Sara has experience as a Sessional Academic at the University of Sydney Law School and Macquarie University Law School. She has published several peer-reviewed papers and presented at national and international seminars and conferences on the use of toxicological, epidemiological and genetic evidence in Australian and US medical litigation (including mass torts and class actions).

Sara has taught and examined undergraduate (LLB) and postgraduate (JD) courses including tort law, legal ethics, and corporate law.
