William Kuss’ practice involves all phases of intellectual property law relating to domestic and foreign intellectual property assets, particularly in the areas of patent and trademark procurement, portfolio management, and counseling. He focuses on patent and trademark prosecution and acquisition, licensing, clearance, and enforcement and is experienced with day-to-day counseling of large patent and trademark portfolios. William also represents emerging companies and assists in their development of all related IP matters to increase corporate IP assets and value. William's practice also embraces the preparation of freedom-to-operate, patentability, and validity opinions, the transfer and licensing of intellectual property assets, as well as merger and acquisition-related due diligence and counseling.
William's technical emphasis has particular focus in the chemical, biochemical, electrochemical, and mechanical arts. As an experienced chemical engineer, examples of his technical concentration include polymerization and polymer processing, particularly relating to commercial films and molded articles for commercial products, 3D printing, nanotechnology and processing methods, organic coatings and resins, particularly relating to paints and stains, polyurethane and polycarbonate technologies and their related articles, electrically conductive polymers, photovoltaic (solar) technologies, rigid foams, polymer catalysts and additives, and semiconductor processing. William also represents clients with a technical focus in biotechnology, gene editing, stem cell technologies, medicinal drug delivery, food science, sterilization systems, metal alloy chemistry, and oil and gas production.
