K&L Gates Asset Management and Investment Funds Practice Ranked in Three Categories, with 17 Lawyers Recommended, in The Legal 500 United States 2020 Guide

The asset management and investment funds practice of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has been recognized in the latest edition of The Legal 500 United States guide with rankings in three categories: Alternative/hedge funds; Mutual/registered/exchange-traded funds; and Private equity funds (including venture capital).

In addition, nearly 20 asset management and investment funds lawyers were ranked or recommended by the publication, including Boston partner Mark Goshko, who was named to the publication’s “Hall of Fame” for Mutual/registered/exchange-traded funds, a designation that recognizes individuals who have repeatedly been ranked as “Leading Lawyers” and received strong praise for continued excellence.

The practice advises a number of high-profile clients including Federated Investors, BNY Mellon, Goldman Sachs, and John Hancock Financial Services. Recent matters include having advised Federated Investors on its acquisition of components of the investment management business of PNC Capital Advisors; Russell Investments on the launch of 20 private funds; AXA Equitable Funds Management Group on a graduated sell-down plan; and Evanston Capital Management in its handling of a FINRA no-action action letter to allow regulated funds of hedge funds to use performance related information with institutional investors.
