Declan C. Gallivan

Declan Gallivan is a senior associate in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. 

Declan is a strategic adviser who guides clients through contentious issues and their most complex, high-stakes disputes. Declan acts for individuals and businesses across a range of sectors, with a focus on technology and energy.

Declan has significant trial and hearing experience, having acted in arbitrations under the major arbitral rules (most commonly the LCIA and ICC) and in cases before the English courts (including the High Court, Court of Appeal, and Supreme Court). Declan also works closely with clients to manage risk and resolve disputes efficiently – often before they escalate. 

Declan is recognised by The Legal 500 as a “key lawyer” for international arbitration (2025). He is also a Solicitor-Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience in the higher courts of England and Wales.

Declan is a strong supporter of pro-bono work, providing counsel and support to organisations such as Kids in Need of Defence, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Prisoners’ Advice Service, and the South West London Law Centres. 

Declan obtained a first-class law degree (LLB) from the University of Bristol. He completed his training contract at K&L Gates during which he gained experience in the competition and EU regulatory, commercial disputes, real estate and investigations, enforcement and white collar practices.

Prior to joining the firm, Declan was an intern at a Public Defender's Office in South Florida working on death penalty cases. In addition, he was a paralegal in the litigation department of a London law firm.
