Nicholas S. Monico

Nicholas Monico is an associate in the firm's Finance practice. Prior to joining the firm, Nicholas was a bankruptcy and restructuring associate with an international law firm, where he represented Chapter 11 debtors across a variety of industries, including healthcare, food service and beverage, telecommunications, manufacturing, and energy. He advised clients throughout all stages of the restructuring process, from prepetition planning through disposition and post-reorganization matters. He has experience negotiating and drafting bankruptcy and transactional documents, including sale motions and orders under Section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, disclosure statements, Chapter 11 plans, confirmation orders, credit agreements, asset purchase agreements, corporate governance documents, and related transaction materials. Nicholas also advised lenders and borrowers in loan workout and distressed lending matters. In addition, he has experience litigating commercial disputes, including managing discovery, coordinating document review, preparing affidavits and witness materials, drafting settlement agreements, and advocating on behalf of clients in court proceedings.

Before entering private practice, Nicholas served as a law clerk to the Honorable Frank Santoro, Chief Judge of the US Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
