Phillip Thomas is a special counsel in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice group, bringing over a decade of experience as a senior legal practitioner with a particular focus on commercial litigation and insurance law. Phillip advises a broad range of clients, including leading Australian and international insurers, as well as insured professionals across a wide array of industries. His pragmatic approach and deep industry knowledge make him a trusted adviser in high-stakes and complex matters.

Phillip has developed significant expertise in professional indemnity disputes, acting for professionals across sectors such as construction, engineering, finance, accounting, and healthcare. He regularly provides strategic advice on claims involving allegations of professional negligence, breaches of duty, and complex contractual issues.

In addition, Phillip has considerable experience in building and construction disputes, advising on matters that span both domestic and large-scale commercial projects. He has frequently acted in matters involving property damage claims, defects, delays, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. Phillip’s clients value his clear communication, commercial acumen, and ability to navigate disputes efficiently and effectively to deliver practical outcomes.
