Ryan R. Elson

Ryan Elson is an associate and a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group. Within the group, his primary focus is patent litigation and he has experience taking a case from initial briefing through summary judgment. Additionally, he has dismissed frivolous patent litigation via a 285 notice letter.

Ryan has worked with clients across various industries, including immersion cooling for electronic devices, exercise machines, computer and consumer electronics, and products liability. In addition to patent litigation, Ryan has experience in assisting clients with both trademark and copyright disputes, including drafting cease and desist letters and discovery requests. Currently, Ryan is studying to become a certified patent attorney.

Ryan was previously a research associate at a biotechnology company, where he produced CRISPR guide RNA oligos by creating impure oligo chains from phosphonamidites with a solid-state synthesizer and purifying the chains using Hamilton and Tecan liquid handlers. He also conducted quality control of RNA oligos and inspected purified oligonucleotides using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry.

Before joining the firm, Ryan served as a legal intern for a crowdfunding platform in California and conducted state-by-state research to determine whether terms of service conflicted with current or upcoming state laws. He assisted in reviewing contracts with clients related to Terms of Use, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Data Process Agreements, and Subscription Agreements.
