William Curtis is an associate in the firm’s Finance practice. William’s experience includes representing secured creditors, including financial institutions, private lenders, and credit funds, in bankruptcy proceedings under Chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code in North Carolina and federal courts nationwide. He has advised clients on out-of-court restructuring alternatives, including receiverships, complex loan workouts, forbearance agreements, and assignments for the benefit of creditors.
William also counsels lenders on the restructuring of commercial loan facilities, including modifications to economic terms, collateral adjustments, covenant amendments, and enforcement strategies involving distressed borrowers. He has assisted in negotiating a wide range of secured and unsecured credit facilities, including revolving credit facilities, term loans, and first-out/last-out structures. Additionally, his experience includes advising on liability management transactions, intercreditor arrangements, subordination agreements, and agreements among lenders governing priority, payment, and enforcement rights.
William has also been actively involved in business development initiatives focused on growing restructuring and finance practices. He cultivates relationships with financial institutions, regional lenders, and referral sources through client outreach, industry engagement, and thought leadership efforts.
