Workplace Safety

The laws and regulations surrounding safe workplaces are complex and challenging to navigate, especially when business operations take place all over the world. From internal compliance and policy support through incident response and agency review, we help employers create and maintain safe working environments.

The lawyers who make up our global workplace safety team work with businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia to help them traverse the jurisdictional differences in workplace safety laws, and give employers and their management insight into conducting business safely in those jurisdictions. Our approach in acting for our clients in workplace incidents involves minimizing the risks of liability for the client, protecting individual directors and managers, and maintaining the public image and reputation of the company.

Our global workplace safety lawyers assist clients in identifying and addressing their workplace health and safety legal requirements with an emphasis on proactive strategies for compliance and accident prevention. Our experience extends to preparing workplace health and safety policies and compliance programs, conducting in-house training, advising clients on their rights and responsibilities in the event an incident occurs, and liaising with the safety regulators, police, and other relevant responders during investigations.

In the event of workplace incidents, we assist our clients in dealing with regulators and investigators to reduce the impact of incidents, associated insurance claims, business disruption, and reputational risks. We are mindful of the need to conduct any litigation in a way that properly protects our clients’ interests while also maintaining a positive working relationship between our client, its insurers, and the applicable regulatory authorities.
