Hunter Thornton

Hunter Thornton is an associate in the firm's Finance practice. He focuses on a wide variety of secured finance transactions (including cash-flow and asset-based lending transactions) with an emphasis on commercial lending and acquisition finance.

In his commercial lending practice, Hunter represents traditional and specialty lenders in leveraged finance, real estate finance, syndicated credit facilities, first lien, second lien, unitranche, and mezzanine financings. He has experience on a variety of facility types, including term, delayed-draw, mezzanine, and syndicated structures. He also represents corporate borrowers and sponsors (public and private) across multiple industries, including healthcare, life sciences, real estate, technology, manufacturing, telecommunications, media and entertainment, energy, and professional services, and assists equity and debt funds in raising fund-level financings. He has experience in domestic and cross-border transactions and has closed financing transactions ranging in size from US$2 million to several billion dollars.

Prior to joining the firm, Hunter served as an associate within the finance and restructuring practice group at a United States law firm headquartered in Tennessee. Through this role, he represented both lenders and borrowers, as well as private equity sponsors, with regard to finance originations, restructurings and workouts, mezzanine and bridge loans, and mergers and acquisitions across multiple varied industries. Additionally, as part of his restructuring practice, Hunter represented debtors, creditors, lenders, and trustees in all aspects of bankruptcy reorganizations, liquidations, and related adversary proceedings.
