Aylissa M. Ritterhoff

Aylissa Ritterhoff concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property, particularly of trademark and copyright law. She provides strategic advice on an array of issues with a focus on trademark clearance, prosecution, and litigation, and prospective copyright litigation. In addition to this work, Aylissa advises on complex commercial transactions where intellectual property assets and considerations are integral to the deal’s value. Specifically, Aylissa has experience with domain name, chain of title, IP assignment, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and generative AI issues in mergers and acquisitions.

Aylissa has considerable experience in reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing preliminary and full trademark clearance searches for clients seeking federal and foreign trademark registration. She counsels on the management of clients’ global trademark portfolios including filings, prosecution, and maintenance. Aylissa advises on proper trademark usage and reviews and clears marketing and advertising materials for clients in a variety of industries including the fashion, beauty, consumer products, food, and technology industries. She regularly reports and responds to office actions, and drafts documents for submission to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Aylissa served as a 2021 and 2022 Summer Associate and Law Clerk at K&L Gates where she acquired skills foundational to her current practice. During law school, Aylissa served as a Submissions Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property and received a CALI Award in Trademarks and Unfair Competition.
