Berto Aguayo

Berto Aguayo is an associate and a member of the IP Procurement and Portfolio Management practice. As a summer associate at the firm, Berto performed extensive research and drafted memoranda on a variety of complex and procedural matters, including intellectual property, antitrust, and corporate law. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Beyond Legal Aid, Casa Central, and Increase The Peace Chicago, a nonprofit he founded that empowers youth with the tools and mentorship to become community leaders.

Berto previously worked as the Executive Director of Increase The Peace Chicago, a nonprofit he founded that empowers youth with the tools and mentorship to become community leaders. Drawing from his transformation from a former gang member to a community advocate, Aguayo supported over 700 young people through employment opportunities and civic leadership training, fostering safer and more inclusive communities.
