The firm's Paris Employment team is pleased to invite you to the third session of its webinar series: "Doing Business in France: Working Time-Main French Rules".

Following our previous sessions on the French employment law framework and on the different types of employment contracts, this third session turns to one of the most distinctive—and most frequently misunderstood—features of French employment law: the working time regime, and how to operate effectively within it.

This webinar will be on Thursday, 18 June at 4pm (CET) for a practical discussion of the legal framework, the available flexibility tools, and the compliance points that most often expose foreign employers to litigation.

This webinar will cover various topics including:

  • The 35-hour statutory workweek: what it actually triggers, and how it interacts with collective bargaining agreements
  • Overtime (heures supplémentaires): what is overtime, annual quota and the most common areas of exposure
  • Maximum daily and weekly working time, mandatory rest periods, and the main legal rules governing night work, Sunday work, and public holidays
  • Time-tracking and working time monitoring obligations in light of recent French and European Court of Justice case law
  • “Forfait jours” and “forfait heures” (global remuneration for days/hours worked): structuring working time for executives, “autonomous” executives, and top executives
  • The right to disconnect (“droit à la déconnexion”)

This session will also be organised in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), and we are pleased that one of its members will be present.
