Advising a European gas buyer as claimant in an ICC arbitration valued at over US$5 billion concerning the cessation of supply by the seller and later termination by the buyer of a long-term gas supply contract for the supply of all the pipeline natural gas to be supplied to a European country.
Acting for a major international contractor based in Hong Kong on a dispute in the Technology and Construction Courts against its subcontracts and insures arising from the defective design and construction of various balconies in a landmark residential apartment block in London.
Advising FTSE 100 financial institution in relation to claims under professional liability and directors’ and officers’ liability policies arising from complex litigation and regulatory issues, including representing clients in mediation and settlement negotiations.
Acting for the Republic of France in a number of court and arbitration proceedings in connection with the loss of the M/T Prestige (including a Commercial Court, and then Court of Appeal, appeal of an arbitration award on a point of law).
Defended a project management company in a multiparty professional negligence claim in the technology and construction courts following delays in connection with the construction of a mixed retail development.
Advised on a dispute regarding policy exposure in respect of a large mining operation in Latin America causing over US$300 million in damage.
Advised on a policy coverage dispute regarding a pub chain operator who suffered interruption as a result of the COVID pandemic.
Assisted on a investor-state dispute for indirect expropriation without compensation regarding an investment in a seabed phosphate deposit.
Advising a London museum pro bono in relation to insurance considerations concerning a particular and unique exhibition.
Advising a nonprofit visual arts and community organisation pro bono in relation to a dispute with an artist regarding ownership of artwork.
Advising an UK-based charity and nonprofit company pro bono that works to provide access to environmental justice for all individuals and communities.
