Advised an apparel and accessories specialty retailer with respect to trademark, copyright, and advertising matters; clearance; and counseling relating to the use and registration of new marks, phrases, and designs, as well as enforcement and litigation regarding third-party uses of marks potentially infringing the client’s vast portfolio of more than 2,000 marks.
Advised a world leader in facial analysis and detection software on complex software licensing and software development kit issues relating to a virtual reality makeup application technology, as well as a strategic license agreement with a global cosmetics company.
Advised an architecture firm on its intellectual property licensing and protection programs for various international projects, including museums, event spaces, arts centers, a courthouse, and a cineplex.
Advised a jewelry firm on a trademark dispute.
Represented a designer of fashion and luxury clothing when filing a trademark application, which was opposed by the owner of a competing trademark.
Advised a designer and manufacturer of handbags and leather goods in relation to capital raisings and corporate law.
Advised a Los Angeles-based women’s fashion designer on a buyout of a footwear sourcing company, a 50% owner of the company.
Represented one of Australia’s most-recognized swimwear and women’s beachwear fashion brands in copyright infringement proceedings that were issued in Australia, Canada, and France. Advised on brand protection.
Advised a provider of eco-chic, natural, vegan, and cruelty-free skincare products that are crafted with Brazilian Amazon rainforest superfruits in connection with a convertible note financing round with angel investors.
Advised a luxury leather goods brand on international brand, design protection and infringement, promotions, website, social media platforms, and retail stores.
Advised a new-generation kitchen appliance company that combines technology, food, art, and design on its Series A-1 Preferred Stock Offering fully subscribed by Hon Hai Precision Industry, Co. Ltd.
Advised a Norwegian producer of textiles and gear for sports and outdoor on its worldwide intellectual property rights, including its trademark, patent, and enforcement matters.
Advised an investment firm on its acquisition of a controlling stake in the parent company of a manufacturer and distributor of branded and own-label clothing supplying some of the United Kingdom’s leading retailers, including Tesco, John Lewis, Asda, and Marks & Spencer.
Advised a premium provider of innovative and sustainable textile solutions on its trademark and copyright portfolios. Managed clearance, prosecution, and enforcement work, including anti-counterfeiting counseling. Also managed client's trademark licensing program, which includes thousands of licensees around the world.
Advised a distributor of beauty, wellness, and lifestyle products in its private placement of shares of Series A Preferred Stock. Led by Longitude Capital Management Co., LLC, the deal also included options to acquire shares of our client's Class A Common Stock.
Advised an Italian holding multinational corporation specializing in luxury goods on global distribution strategy and antitrust compliance.
Represented a luxury retailer in a false-discount pricing class action. The case was dismissed by the district court, reversed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and ultimately settled favorably.
Represented a fashion joint venture in connection with various collaborations with contemporary artists.
Represented a retailer of swimwear and beachwear in its swimwear collaboration with a fashion blog. This collaboration set one of the 2019 records for highest social media product launch and resulted in US$2 million in direct-to-consumer sales via the platform on day one.
Represented a joint venture between a fashion retailer and a clothing company in connection with the licensing of marks for the women’s collections. 
Represented an innovator in ionic skin care in its sale to a world-leading beauty company.
Advised a large online retailer on trademark and copyright counseling and managing its global portfolio of marks. Represented the client, in addition to clearance and prosecution work, in both offensive and defensive disputes relating to trademarks and counseled the company regarding fair use.
Served as global intellectual property counsel to a British shirt-maker, including managing the company’s entire global intellectual property portfolio of trademarks and designs; advising on enforcement, litigation, and licensing issues; and being primary outside counsel on marketing and advertising issues, e-commerce, contracts, collaborations, and other day-to-day legal matters.
Advised a multinational beauty company on numerous international licensing, collaboration, digital, product launch, and mergers and acquisitions projects.
Advised an Italian luxury brand comprising high-quality tailors with shops in Milan, Rome, Naples, New York, and Tokyo in relation to the renewal of the lease for client's London shop on Mount Street from Grosvenor Estates.
Represented a clothing retailer in a range of intellectual property protection and enforcement matters, including a federal court litigation regarding a claim of infringement of a registered design. Advised the client globally on a fashion label trademark portfolio.
Advised a leading international sportswear-brand enterprise based in China as an investor in a consortium that bought a Washington marina just south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
