Dr. Isabel Kainer-Pfuhl, LL.M.

Isabel Kainer-Pfuhl is an associate in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She provides comprehensive and practical advice in individual and collective employment law matters, with a special focus on insolvency-related issues. Isabel supports national and international clients in managing employee matters in insolvency situations, including restructurings, terminations, and negotiations with employee representatives. She advises on the legal challenges arising from insolvency proceedings, helping clients navigate complex employment law requirements during company insolvencies and reorganizations. She also has extensive experience representing clients before employment courts. Her practice also covers HR compliance and employee data protection matters as well as employment law aspects in M&A transactions.

Additionally, Isabel has decades of experience in complex intellectual property litigation matters, representing clients in high-stakes disputes, primarily on patent law, with a particular focus on employee inventions and related remuneration claims, especially in insolvency scenarios. 

Prior to joining the firm in July 2015, Isabel worked in the litigation department of another leading international law firm in Frankfurt for several years.

She studied law at the University of Bayreuth/Germany. She received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Auckland/New Zealand. Being a member of the DFG Graduate School “Intellectual Property and the Public Domain”, she obtained a doctorate degree in the fields of sports law.
