Prior to joining the firm, Morgan served as a judicial law clerk in the Eastern District of Texas, Marshall Division for US Magistrate Judge Roy S. Payne whose docket primarily consists of patent infringement suits. Through this role, Morgan worked on among other things motions under Rules 12 and 56 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, motions to transfer under 28 USC § 1404, discovery disputes, Daubert motions, and claim construction.
Before that, Morgan served as a judicial law clerk in the Western District of Louisiana, Alexandria Division for US Judge Dee D. Drell. Through this role, Morgan worked on both civil and criminal matters, including numerous habeas corpus petitions under 28 USC § 2255 and motions for compassionate release under 18 USC § 3582(c).
Prior to that, Morgan worked as an associate for an intellectual property boutique in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, prosecuting patent and trademark application.
