Jaren Butts is a member of the firm's Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions practice group. Jaren focuses her practice on general corporate law matters across a wide range of industries, including technology, financial and business services, manufacturing, and transportation. Jaren also focuses a significant portion of her practice on emerging growth and venture capital transactions, advising global financial institutions and other corporate clients on early-stage investments in leading fintech and other venture-backed companies, including advising on matters regarding compliance with the Bank Holding Company Act and reporting requirements under the Securities Exchange Act.
Prior to joining the firm, Jaren served as a legal intern at an aerospace company where she recommended and drafted revisions to the company’s cybersecurity and workplace policies. Jaren served in the Wake Forest Community Law and Business Clinic where she drafted corporate governance documents and commercial agreements. Jaren also served in AML and investigations-related roles with financial institutions, including the Federal Reserve Bank and Capital One.
