K&L Gates Celebrates International Women's Day 2026 With Firmwide Speakers and Events
Global law firm K&L Gates LLP is recognizing International Women’s Day 2026 throughout the month of March, including a fireside chat with Jenny Bicks, an acclaimed screenwriter known for her work on Sex and the City, Men in Trees, The Big C, What a Girl Wants, and The Greatest Showman. The conversation will explore Bicks’ personal experience in the writer’s room, as well as what it was like to use storytelling to empower women around the globe through a television show. Throughout the firm, in the spirit of the International Women’s Day global theme “Give to Gain” and Sex and the City, offices will be collecting gently used shoes for donation to local charities.
In addition to the fireside chat, offices across K&L Gates’ global platform will honor International Women’s Day with thoughtful client-facing, internal, and community engagement activities that support and accelerate women’s equality around the world. The firmwide programming is centered on this year’s “Give to Gain” global theme, which highlights the profound impact of reciprocity and mutual support within our communities and recognizes that when women flourish, the positive effects extend outward.
“International Women’s Day is an opportunity to reflect on the progress we’ve made while recommitting to the work still ahead,” said April Boyer, a partner in the Miami office and chair of the firm’s global Women in the Profession Committee. “This year’s ‘Give to Gain’ theme reinforces a simple but powerful truth that when we invest in inclusion and opportunity, we strengthen our firm, our communities, and the profession as a whole."
Bicks commented: “Storytelling has the power to shape how we see ourselves and one another. I’m honored to join K&L Gates in celebrating International Women’s Day and to be part of a conversation about the importance of supporting women’s voices, sharing experiences, and creating space for authenticity—because when women are empowered to tell their stories, everyone gains."
K&L Gates continues to find ways to promote and grow opportunities for everyone at the firm because it is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone is and feels respected, heard, valued, and supported. One of the pathways through which the firm dedicates its efforts is through the firmwide Women in the Profession (WIP) Committee, which is open to women lawyers and their allies. The WIP committee empowers lawyers to reach and surpass their personal and professional goals and provides tools for lawyers to advance their careers through business development, strengthen their leadership skills, and become role models. The committee also enhances the sense of community across the firm’s global platform. K&L Gates, during women’s history month and as it celebrates International Women’s Day, honors the firm’s culture, values, and commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace, where our sense of community is as strong and resilient as each individual who is a part of it.
K&L Gates is a fully integrated global law firm. The firm represents leading multinational corporations, growth and middle-market companies, capital markets participants and entrepreneurs in every major industry group as well as public sector entities, educational institutions, philanthropic organizations and individuals.
