K&L Gates Recognized for Role in LS Cable & System's Major Virginia Manufacturing Investment
Global law firm K&L Gates LLP was recognized at a recent announcement alongside LS Cable & System leadership and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin for a landmark US$689 million advanced manufacturing project in the Hampton Roads region.
The project is expected to be the largest single capital investment in the region’s history and will create more than 430 jobs. It will include copper rod production, magnet wire manufacturing, and rare earth magnet production, strengthening domestic supply chains and supporting US energy independence.
K&L Gates represented LS Cable & System in connection with the project. The firm’s work was led by Seoul partner Tyler Won, Washington, DC partner Olivia Byrne, and other members of the firm’s Global Locations Strategies practice.

The announcement follows LS Cable’s earlier LS GreenLink groundbreaking in Chesapeake, Virginia, a submarine cable manufacturing facility valued at nearly US$700 million, for which K&L Gates also served as legal counsel.
