Madisyn M. Uekawa

Madisyn Uekawa is an associate in the firm's Seattle office and focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation as well as intellectual property litigation. She has assisted clients on a variety of matters, including commercial contract disputes, internal investigations, bankruptcy-related matters, shareholder disputes, and patent litigation. She has experience in multiple phases of litigation, including pleadings, expert and fact discovery, motions practice, and invalidity contentions.

Madisyn also maintains an active pro bono practice representing asylum seekers in immigration proceedings and assisting individuals in obtaining lawful permanent residence.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Madisyn worked as a summer associate at a mid-sized Seattle law firm where she focused on civil litigation, and she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Magistrate Judge Theresa L. Fricke of the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. In 2018, she was selected as a 1L Fellow by the Legal Employers Advancing Diversity in Washington (LEAD-WA) Fellowship Program and gained experience in both a law firm and in-house setting.
