Senate Confirms Adm. Buzby to Head U.S. Maritime Administration

On Thursday, August 3, Admiral Mark Buzby was confirmed by voice vote by the United States Senate to become the Administrator of the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD). This is the earliest a MARAD Administrator for an incoming president has been confirmed in modern history. A brief history of the nomination and confirmation process of recent MARAD Administrators by incoming presidents is below.
