Our Commitment to Diversity
Seth I. Allen

Seth Allen is a dedicated policyholder advocate with experience enforcing individual and commercial policyholders’ rights to insurance coverage for a diversity of losses and liabilities in state and federal courts throughout the country. He has a knack for developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, local counsel, experts, the courts, and opposing counsel to effectively advocate and pursue clients’ goals.

Seth committed to becoming a policyholder specialist early in his career while clerking in state and federal court, where he observed the prejudicial impact that litigation costs can have on the outcome of civil, commercial, and criminal matters. With valuable experience in the civil and criminal arenas, Seth brings outstanding legal writing, research, technology, and data management skills to his policyholder practice.

Prior to joining the firm, Seth served as an insurance recovery associate in an elite New York City-based insurance recovery law firm, where he gained extensive experience litigating complex coverage matters from the pleadings stage through discovery and motion practice. He has litigated coverage under professional liability, general commercial liability, directors and officers liability, builders risk, property and casualty, and excess and umbrella insurance policies in courts across the country for clients in the construction, healthcare, manufacturing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, legal, and financial industries.

Outside of court, Seth has experience conducting coverage and litigation assessments for hedge funds seeking to invest in coverage litigation, including by advising on the merits and the potential cost of disputes. He also has experience auditing insurance programs and advising clients of the coverage that best suits their business needs.

Before becoming a coverage attorney, Seth served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Harvey Bartle III of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where among numerous other matters, Seth was assigned one of the largest multi-district litigation in the country and several years-long prosecutions in connection with one of the largest drug busts in United States history. Prior to his federal clerkship, Seth clerked for the Honorable Abbe F. Fletman in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Civil Trial Division. He also served as a Judicial Intern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

During law school, Seth served as a Board Member and Senior Editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law School Journal of International Law, a volunteer with the Transnational Legal Clinic and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Project, and a member of the University of Pennsylvania Law School’s nationally-recognized moot court team.
