Yoanna Stefanova

Yoanna Stefanova is a partner and heads the corporate practice of the firm’s Luxembourg office. She is a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice group. Yoanna focuses on private equity and cross-border M&A transactions. She advises asset managers and private equity firms on the set-up and implementation of various structures as well as on the transactional aspects of investments and divestments, including in relation to financing, restructuring, refinancing, management incentives, shareholders’ agreements, corporate governance, and pre-insolvency matters.

Yoanna holds a master degree in private international law from the University Robert Schuman in Strasbourg and completed the Cours complémentaires en droit luxembourgeois (CCDL) in 2002. She was admitted to the Luxembourg Bar in 2002.

She regularly publishes on selected legal topics. She contributed to a compendium released by Wolters Kluwer to mark the 100th anniversary of the Luxembourg Companies Act. Yoanna is a member of the editorial committee of ACE magazine, a monthly Luxembourg periodical on business, tax and accounting law.

Yoanna is recognized by the Legal 500 2021 as “a key practitioner [who] combines both investment fund structuring expertise with M&A prowess.”

Yoanna started her career at a Magic Circle Firm in Luxembourg where she exercised for more than 10 years. Prior to joining the firm, Yoanna was a partner for almost 10 years in the corporate department of a boutique Luxembourg law firm and then in the corporate and investment funds departments of a Benelux law firm.
