Jenny Y. Li

Jenny Li is a patent agent in the firm’s IP Procurement and Portfolio Management practice group. Jenny prepares and prosecutes patent applications across a wide range of technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), software systems, computer vision, financial technology platforms, telecommunications, signal processing, and hardware devices. She works closely with inventors, in-house counsel, and engineering teams to develop patent strategies, draft patent applications, and respond to office actions before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and international patent offices. 

Jenny received her B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington. Her doctoral research focused on optical imaging technologies, including the development of point-of-care imaging devices. Through her academic and research experience, she developed technical expertise in optical physics, biophotonics, imaging algorithms, device prototyping, machine learning, and brain-computer interface technologies. She has authored or co-authored 38 peer-reviewed publications in these fields. 

Prior to entering patent practice, Jenny worked at multinational technology company as an Image Quality Engineer, contributing to the development of augmented reality products. She also assisted a university spin-off startup with technology transfer efforts commericalizing portable skin imaging devices.
