Abbey Cormican-Jones

Abbey Cormican-Jones is a lawyer in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She assists clients in resolving employment disputes in the Fair Work Commission, the Federal Court, Federal Circuit Court and the Supreme Court of New South Wales. She has worked on matters involving unfair dismissal, general protections, discrimination, restraint of trade, breach of fiduciary duties and confidentiality obligations.

On the advisory side, Abbey assists clients with sensitive workplace investigations (including allegations of bullying, discrimination, harassment and whistleblower disclosures), performance management, disciplinary processes, terminations of employment, redundancies, transfer of business arrangements, workers' compensation, management of injured workers, long service leave and modern award compliance.
 

Abbey joined K&L Gates as a paralegal and subsequently completed the firm's graduate program, undertaking rotations across the Labour, Employment, and Workplace Safety; Energy, Infrastructure, and Resources; and Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions groups gaining broad experience and exposure to a range of matters.
