Benjamin D. Heuberger, Ph.D.

Ben Heuberger supports life-science companies translating discoveries into impactful therapeutic options for those that need them most—the patients. He advises entrepreneurs and established life-science companies on building and defending patent estates that champion their scientific, clinical, and commercial endeavors globally.

His patent counseling spans stages of discovery, development, and commercialization as well as acquisition and investor diligence activities. Ben’s expertise includes biochemistry and molecular biology with a focus on synthetic organic chemistry and is relied on by public, private, and venture-funded companies with matters relating to an array of small molecule pharma and biotech innovations at diverse stages of maturity.

Awarded a postdoctoral fellowship jointly at Harvard Medical School and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute under Nobel Laureate Dr. Jack Szostak, he also interned with a research ventures and licensing group affiliated with a major academic medical center, was a Fellow with Harvard’s Office of Technology Development, and a member of the Graduate Consulting Club.

Prior to joining the firm, Benjamin was a patent agent in the Boston office of a national law firm.
