Emiko Morisato

Emiko Morisato is a member of the firm’s Corporate practice, with experience spanning corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, employment, and dispute resolution for both domestic and international clients. She has gained experience through corporate secondment, engaging in critical projects from the initial stages and providing practical legal advice. She has extensive experience advising cross-border transactions, including contract negotiations, structuring, corporate reorganizations, and regulatory matters.

Emiko entered private practice in 2008. Her career prior to joining K&L Gates was spent in the Tokyo office of another US-based international law firm.

Emiko has worked on pro bono work, including an administrative lawsuit to overturn the rejection of refugee status for a Colombian applicant, as well as the application process for refugee status in Japan for a Pakistani applicant.
