Erin Ryan

Erin Ryan is a senior associate in the Labour, Employment and Workplace Safety practice. She brings broad commercial experience with a primary focus on workplace law including workplace health and safety (WHS), regulatory compliance and corporate risk management.

She advises clients on compliance with state and territory legislation, workers' compensation processes, workplace investigations, regulatory inquiries, and directors' and officers' due diligence obligations through board briefings and corporate training.

Erin also has experience across product safety, consumer law, as well as procurement, licensing and regulated supply chains. She has advised on environment sustainability, and social responsibility programs, including modern slavery reporting compliance, sustainability initiatives and regulatory monitoring.
 

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Erin worked as Associate Corporate Counsel at a global corporation, where she was part of the Australian Legal Operations team and served as the primary legal counsel for WHS matter across the company's national logistic and fulfilment network. She also held previous positions in which she provided legal support for the company's product safety and product compliance programs.

Erin also worked as an Analyst at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) where she focused on the utilities sector, particularly in relation to the Electricity Markets Inquiry. She was part of the ACCC's graduate program where she worked in various teams including the Australian Energy Regulator – Networks Compliance, Competition and Consumer Law Unit (Legal and Economic Division), and Cartels Branch (Specialised Enforcement and Advocacy Division).
