James Walker

James Walker is a lawyer in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. 

His practice covers employment and workplace relations matters, including advising on employment relationships, undertaking human rights and employment-related due diligences, and assisting clients with unfair dismissal and general protections claims. 

James also assists clients with obtaining employer-sponsored migration outcomes and advises clients on their employer sponsorship obligations.
 

James joined K&L Gates as a paralegal in the Labour, Employment and Workplace Safety practice in September 2024. James subsequently completed K&L Gates' graduate program in 2025 where he gained practical experience in the Labour, Employment and Workplace Safety practice by working closely with colleagues on a range of client matters. 

Prior to joining K&L Gates, James was employed as a Workplace Relations Advisor within a large Queensland public health service, where he gained experience across a broad range of industrial matters, including complex employee disciplinary matters.
