Lannah Abasi is a patent agent in the firm’s Intellectual Property Procurement and Portfolio Management practice group. She holds a PhD in protein biochemistry and has developed extensive experience in gene regulation, epigenetics, and structural biology. Prior to joining the firm, Lannah was a graduate research assistant at a university in California. Through this role, she biochemically investigated the molecular basis of gene silencing and phase separation and determined how neurological disorders alter these interactions. Lannah also performed imaging of protein self-assemblies (phase separation), binding studies, PTM installation, and PTM mapping by MS, contributing insights into the relationship between protein dynamics and biological processes. This scientific foundation enables her to approach complex challenges in biotechnology and intellectual property with a deep understanding of both scientific innovation and practical application.
