Prior to joining the firm, Meriem served as an extern to the Honorable Judge Glasgow at the Washington Court of Appeals, Division II, where she supported stakeholder outreach for the Gender and Justice Commission and conducted legal research and drafting. She also worked at intellectual property law firms and technology organizations, advising companies ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies on patent portfolio strategy, preparing and prosecuting US and PCT patent applications, and conducting freedom-to-operate and infringement assessments, intellectual property audits, licensing support, and design-around analyses. As a registered patent agent, Meriem collaborated with inventors to identify protectable innovations and develop timely, cost-effective filing strategies across technologies including artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, networking, autonomous systems, virtualization, data privacy, the Internet of Things, electric vehicle charging, and computer graphics and imaging.
