Our real estate funds team has extensive experience in planning, documenting, negotiating, and closing private real estate funds of all types and sizes, including both equity and debt funds. Our clients range from multibillion dollar funds to smaller focused funds raising capital for particular strategies.

Our group also has significant experience in the emerging manager space and with negotiating joint venture arrangements among sponsoring groups. We have dealt with investors of every type from around the globe including state, local, and private pension plans, endowments, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, international nonprofits, and high net worth investors. We work in efficient teams, helping coordinate the disciplines necessary to complete a fund, such as tax, ERISA, finance, and regulatory.

We advise and support our real estate fund clients across a broad range of issues, including:

  • Fund structuring
  • Terms and market intel
  • Pitchbook review
  • Term sheet, PPM, subscription agreement, and governing agreement preparation

  • Registration issues
  • Credit facility issues (along with finance lawyers)

  • Closing issues

Moreover, we provide additional advice and assistance to emerging managers who have limited or no prior experience with fundraising.
