Alison Hamer

Alison Hamer is an associate in the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She is an experienced employment law litigator who handles a wide range of cases, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, breach of contract and wage and hour. She represents employers and individual defendants in single-plaintiff and class, collective action, and representative Private Attorney General Act (PAGA) litigation in state and federal courts and arbitration. She also assists employers in responding to administrative charges.

Alison successfully advises management regarding employment law practices relating to hiring, performance management, disciplining and terminating employees, managing disability accommodations and medical leaves of absence, employment classifications, and wage and hour compliance. She also helps employers prevent legal issues by drafting employment handbooks, policies and agreements.

Additionally, Alison has experience conducting complex and sensitive investigations, including claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower complaints, misconduct, and alleged policy violations.

Prior to joining the firm, Alison was an associate at a boutique labor and employment law firm. Through this role, Alison served as the lead associate on cases involving all areas of employment law, including complex wage and hour class, PAGA representative, and collective hybrid actions. In addition, she successfully represented employers before administrative agencies including the California Civil Rights Department (formerly known as the Department of Fair Employment and Housing), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. She also provided employment law advice and counseling.

Named to the Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star list, a distinction given to the top 2.5% of attorneys in practice less than 10 years, from 2012 to 2018.  Named to the Super Lawyers list in 2023.

Professionals in Human Resources Association (PIHRA) Board Member, Legislative Affairs, West Los Angeles 2019 to 2022.
