Aster Cheng

Aster Cheng is an associate and a member of the Asset Management and Investment Funds practice. Prior to becoming an associate, she served as a summer associate for two summers. Through this role, she split her time between the firm and the in-house legal department of one of the firm’s clients.

As part of her practice, Aster represents both registered and private investment funds clients on matters of formation, organization, and maintenance. She advises open and closed-end investment management companies on regulatory matters, registration, and compliance. Her practice includes proxy issues, reorganizations, and various disclosure matters. Aster also counsels and represents institutional investors in connection with their private market investments, including by reviewing and advising on fund documentation.

Aster previously was a student advocate at a Boston-based university’s Compliance Policy Clinic where she worked with a mail-order pharmacy to draft data retention policies and procedures. During law school, Aster was the development articles co-editor of the Review of Banking and Financial Law at Boston University School of Law.
