Cate Gelband is an associate at the firm's Seattle office. She is a member of the Corporate practice area and the Mergers and Acquisitions and Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice groups. Cate focuses her practice on venture financings, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions, including cross-border transactions. She represents startup and growth-stage companies in connection with seed, angel, venture, and strategic financings and supports companies from formation through exit across a variety of industries.
Cate was a summer associate at K&L Gates in 2019. During law school, she served as a judicial extern in the chambers of the Honorable John V. Acosta, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, and worked as a legal research and writing tutor. Cate also participated in the law school's Business Law Clinic.
