Claudia Marina Velasquez

Claudia Marina Velasquez is an associate in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, but focuses primarily on defending employers in the full spectrum of labor and employment disputes litigated in federal and state courts. Claudia Marina assists in providing litigation solutions for employers in claims arising under Title VII, the Florida Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Additionally, Claudia Marina advises employers with respect to their personnel policies and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law. Claudia Marina also provides employers with solutions in day-to-day employment counseling.

Prior to joining the firm, Claudia Marina served as a student clinician for both the Veterans and Service members Legal Clinic and the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While there, she conducted client interviews in Spanish and subsequently drafted staffing conference memoranda highlighting issues to be raised in appellate briefs. Claudia Marina also drafted a prevailing brief under the Equal Access to Justice Act. She further represented a domestic violence client before the court in a permanent injunction hearing.
