S. Cooper Hawley

Cooper Hawley is a corporate associate in the Charleston office of K&L Gates. His practice focuses on representing publicly- and privately-held companies, including private equity funds and their portfolio companies, in connection with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other negotiated transactions.  Cooper also counsels investors in structuring and executing preferred equity investments and start-up and emerging growth companies in connection with capital raising transactions.

Cooper also has experience representing sponsors, borrowers, lenders, issuers, distressed investors, and direct lenders in a wide range of financing matters, including leveraged acquisitions, high-yield bond issuances, liability management transactions, direct lending transactions, and rescue financings.

Prior to joining the Firm, Cooper was a corporate associate in the finance group of an international law firm headquartered in New York. Cooper also previously worked as an attorney for the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C.
