Insurance Companies as Investors

This webinar was the third installment in a continuing series of webinars on the opportunities presented for asset managers and institutional investors from the intersection of asset management and insurance. In particular, we

• Provided an overview of the investing behavior of insurance companies, particularly in a low-, zero-, or even negative-interest environment;
• Discussed the net capital rules applicable to insurance companies in the EU and the US, including a comparison of those rules in important instances; and
• Addressed structures which have historically been used to improve capital efficiency and the effect of recent regulatory developments on those structures.
