International Hiring: Managing Policies, Procedures, and More

Date: November 2022
Watch Now

Because hiring-related laws and regulations vary greatly around the globe, employers must use care when retaining workers in foreign jurisdictions. To deal with such complexity, many employers have turned to Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) and Employers of Record (EORs), while others use independent contractors. These arrangements, however, present unique challenges that employers must carefully consider in advance.

In our final Global Employer Solutions webinar of 2022, an international panel of lawyers from the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice group discussed the use of workers in foreign jurisdictions, including:

  • The pros and cons of using PEOs and EORs;
  • Key provisions to include in PEO/EOR contracts;
  • Payroll considerations when retaining international employees; and
  • Best practices for using independent contractors in foreign jurisdictions.
