K&L Gates Assists Australian Charity Healthy Strides Foundation Establish First International Clinic in Singapore
Global law firm K&L Gates has advised Australian not-for-profit charitable organization Healthy Strides Foundation on the launch of Healthy Strides Singapore, its first international paediatric clinic for children with neurological conditions and injuries.
The firm assisted with key legal aspects of the expansion, including advising on equity structuring, negotiating shareholders agreements, share subscription agreements, and lease agreements, as well as assisting with employment and intellectual property related matters for the new entity, enabling Healthy Strides to establish a strong legal and operational foundation for its first international clinic.
Founded by Dayna Pool, the Foundation is known for its innovative, research-driven model of care and its commitment to improving the lives of children with neurological challenges. The Singapore launch marks a significant milestone in the Foundation’s mission to expand access to high-quality paediatric therapy across the region.
The Singapore Corporate team was led by partner Marius Toime, with support from partner Christopher Tan (Employment), of counsel Lai Foong Chan (Real Estate), senior associate Su Yun Kiew, and associate Esther Neo. Additional support was provided by Australian Corporate partner Adam Levine and Intellectual Property partner Chris Round.
Toime stated: “We are proud to support Healthy Strides Foundation in bringing its transformative work to Singapore. This initiative reflects the power of cross-border collaboration in advancing paediatric care and community impact.”
Levine stated: “Supporting Healthy Strides Foundation in its international expansion has been a deeply rewarding experience. This initiative not only reflects the strength of Australia’s charitable innovation but also demonstrates how thoughtful legal structuring can empower organizations to scale their impact globally. We’re proud to help lay the groundwork for a clinic that will change lives across borders.”
Dayna Pool, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Healthy Strides Foundation, said: “Our growth has only been possible because of the kind of support the K&L Gates team has provided. We couldn’t have navigated this unknown territory without them steering us in the right direction every time we faced obstacles and uncertainty.”
K&L Gates’ Corporate practice is one of the most substantial in the legal industry, with hundreds of lawyers in offices on five continents providing clients with practical legal solutions in the structuring, financing, and completion of domestic, international, and cross-border transactions.
