Moqi Liu is a corporate attorney who focuses her practice on incorporation and corporate governance, equity and debt financings, public and private securities issuances, and mergers and acquisitions. She also advises management teams and boards of directors with regard to fiduciary duties, corporate governance, and securities law disclosure, as well as compliance issues.
Moqi started her career as a corporate attorney at an Am Law 100 firm’s San Francisco and Denver offices, where she advised public and private companies on SEC reporting and compliance, venture capital financing, and domestic and cross-border asset-based acquisition and financing transactions. After that, she practiced corporate law at a tier 1 corporate law firm in the Bay Area, ranked by U.S. News & World Report, in a role which she represented numerous private companies in mergers and acquisitions transactions.
During law school, Moqi interned for the Honorable Monica M. Marquez of the Colorado Supreme Court. She also served as president of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. She was a member of the Colorado Technology Law Journal, and graduated first place in her class in the area of securities law, receiving the 2017 George Bermant Award for Best Student Work in Securities Law. In the legal community, Moqi was an editor for the Stanford Law School China Guiding Cases Project where she worked with other editors to facilitate Chinese judicial system reform by enhancing communications between Chinese and American judges.
