Sophia A. Khan

Sophia Khan is an associate and a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations practice group. She served as a summer associate at the firm before becoming an associate. 

Prior to joining the firm, Sophia was a law clerk for a nonprofit organization focused on advising domestic violence survivors in legal matters, where she assisted with case strategy by analyzing trial court documents and determining grounds for appeal. 

Additionally, she gained experience as a legal intern for the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia. Her role involved supporting assistant US attorneys by drafting memoranda that analyzed legal issues on jurisdiction and venue. She also wrote a prosecutorial memorandum regarding a United States Agency for International Development fraud case, and drafted a book chapter for a D.C. historical society on the topic of US Attorney’s Offices across the country.

Sophia gained additional experience as a political affairs intern for the United Nations. She worked on drafting a UN Secretary-General’s report on global security environment, and supported United Nations personnel by attending meetings and drafting memoranda on counterterrorism sanctions. Sophia also liaised with United Nations entities to facilitate and encourage the comprehensive gender equity and racial justice agenda.
