Sydney E. Lopes

Sydney Lopes is an associate in the firm's Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. As a litigator, she handles a diverse range of employment matters, representing clients in both the public and private sectors. Sydney has also assisted clients in reaching positive outcomes in arbitration, mediation, and appellate matters. 

Beyond litigation, Sydney provides advice and counsel to clients. She assists with matters related to collective bargaining agreements, reductions in force, employee termination, disciplinary actions, and employee handbook policies. Her practical guidance helps organizations maintain compliance and foster positive workplace environments.

Sydney also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on civil rights, asylum, and immigration.

Sydney was previously a summer associate in the firm’s Seattle office. During this time she observed client pitches, client calls, depositions, negotiations, oral argument preparation, pre-trial hearings, and mediations. Sydney also researched client issues and drafted memos for the Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety and Litigation and Dispute Resolution groups.

Prior to joining the firm, Sydney served as a law clerk for the Washington State Solicitor General’s Office and as a judicial extern to the Honorable James L. Robart of the Western District of Washington.
