Carlos Jimenez is a partner in the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Workplace Safety practice. Carlos focuses his practice on employment litigation with an emphasis on class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) representative actions. He has extensive experience representing employers across a wide range of complex employment matters, and managing high‑stakes litigation from inception through trial. His responsiblities pertain to various aspects of litigation, including client and witness interviews, court appearances, law and motion practice, oral argument on dispositive motions, written discovery, depositions, pretrial motions, and trial preparation. He also has experience in representing government entities and medical facilities in defense litigation.
He has successfully defended a broad range of companies against individual, class, and representative wage and hour actions in state and federal courts, the California Court of Appeal, and the Ninth Circuit, and before administrative agencies such as the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and US Department of Labor.
Carlos focuses on defense against claims of unpaid wages, denial of breaks, independent contractor misclassification, and exempt status misclassification; enforcement of arbitration agreements and class action waivers; and wage statement claims. His extensive experience as a litigator has helped clients achieve highly favorable results both in and out of court.
In addition to his litigation practice, Carlos provides practical and focused advice to his clients on wage and hour and employment issues, and can provide employers valuable insight from his time spent representing employees at prior firms.
